“Ponti” – Sharlene Teo

The story follows three women across different time periods. In the 2000s, teenager Szu struggles with loneliness and finds solace in her new friendship with Circe. Szu’s mother, Amisa, was once a horror film actress in the 1970s, starring in a forgotten B-movie series about a Pontianak (a Southeast Asian vampire-like ghost). Years later, Circe revisits her past, unraveling the mystery of their friendships and the eerie shadows cast by Amisa’s cinematic legacy.
